Our gatherings are always fun, and how can they not be when it’s our members themselves who come up with creative ideas for entertainment. Some of our beloved staples include:
- IWAK Halloween Bash – a fun celebration of all things spooky for children 0 to 99 years old. The IWAK Halloween Bash is one fun party! A Family-friendly affair, costumes required, for members only.
- IWAK Christmas Dinner & Fundraiser – our major fundraising event of the year where we enjoy fine dining and entertainment while collecting resources to help those in need. This is a formal event that is open to the public.
- IWAK Mixers – informal get-togethers that we usually have in autumn and spring. Good food, cocktails, good times and lots of fun. Members only.
What our members say about IWAK
Dear IWAK friends,
As I prepare to leave Kraków tomorrow morning, I find myself reflecting on the incredible year we've shared together. The memories we've created, the laughter we've shared, and the adventures we've embarked upon have left an indelible mark on my heart.I want to express my deepest gratitude for the unforgettable experiences we've had. From the breakfast, brunch, lunch and all foods related gathering to the fun clubbing, art, sleigh ride, Bollywood, mushroom picking and do much more. Each moment has woven a tapestry of friendship and joy that I will carry with me wherever I go. You've been my companions in adventure, my pillars of support, and my source of endless inspiration.Though distance may separate us physically, please know that you will always hold a special place in my thoughts and heart.Thank you for being an integral part of my life this past year. Until we meet again, take care and keep the spirit of adventure alive. With love and heartfelt goodbyes,Yours,Hila BerkovichWe had lived In Krakow, in the years 2007 – 2008 and I was also a member in IWAK. I contacted IWAK as soon as we moved back in 2020. Members had changed almost completely after 14 years, but there were still a couple of familiar faces from old times. Of course, the corona messed up many of IWAK’s plans but I took part in as many events as possible, so I didn’t feel lonely. With some friends, we also organised meetings between us, but initially I got to know them through IWAK as well. I would like to thank the IWAK Committee for all the work they do for their members.
Irene LaitinenJoining IWAK was a fantastic way to meet and make friends. The activities arranged were varied and I enjoyed being an active member and committee member. I would say that the more you are able to be involved, the more you will gain from your membership.
Alison WelchIWAK was a big part of my life in Kraków. I met many wonderful people and made lifelong friends through it! Enjoyed all the book clubs and cooking clubs, as well as an opportunity to serve on the committee. IWAK is a unique, friendly community of foreign women in Kraków.
Masha ShymbergI volunteered as an event coordinator for the association for couple of months and I go to the IWAK's craft group meetings. There is so much to do with the women in this association and it is a great opportunity to meet wonderful people from different cultures.
