Currently, while the world is experiencing a global pandemic and the government has imposed rules on gatherings, the IWAK Committee felt it was important to have clear guidelines for our Association in order to keep our community safe and well. Due to the current situation we do not know when we can resume monthly IWAK meetings at the Sheraton Hotel, and will keep you informed of any changes in the situation.
Therefore, in the interim, IWAK is arranging informal smaller-scale events both online and face to face for members. While the situation is not ideal, we need to consider the health and safety of those around us and the wider community. So we are trying to balance the current restrictions with the needs of our community to stay connected.
The following rules apply to all events being organised for IWAK until further notice:
-
Depending on the severity of the pandemic restrictions, you may be asked to complete a formal RSVP and Health Declaration online to attend any face to face events.
-
Numbers may be limited to events based on the type of event and limits imposed by venues.
-
If you RSVP and cannot attend due to illness or other extenuating circumstance, please notify the host ASAP so someone from the waitlist can take your place.
-
In the past we have had some members RSVP and then not turn up to events. When we have to place limits on events, we need some rules. Therefore, if you RSVP to an event and subsequently fail to show up on more than two occasions without notifying the event host, you may be excluded from future events.
-
-
If you or anyone in your household is experiencing a fever, cough or cold/flu symptoms you SHOULD NOT attend any face to face events during this time.
-
If you or anyone in your household are under quarantine/self-isolation restrictions you SHOULD NOT attend any face to face events during this time.
-
If you have taken a COVID-19 test and are awaiting your result please DO NOT attend any face to face events during this period.
-
If you become unwell or are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days of any event please inform the host as soon as possible. The contact details of members attending each event will be retained by the host for a maximum of 30 days in case there is any need to conduct contact tracing should anyone become unwell.
Your attendance of face to face meetings simultaneously signifies your understanding of and compliance with the above provisions.
