2023 marked a transformative year for IWAK, transitioning from a non-profit organization to a much lighter community setup. We evolved from exclusively welcoming expats to embracing internationally-minded women of diverse backgrounds. Our shift from paid memberships to voluntary participation reflects our commitment to inclusivity. The move from a traditional leadership structure to an equal committee of seven ensures everyone has a voice.
Reflecting on the past months, from September to December, IWAK welcomed members from 20 different countries. Coming together in the enchanting city of Krakow, our diverse community thrived. The top countries represented at our events were India, Ukraine, and Poland.
September saw the launch of our Integration Day, a memorable event filled with a treasure hunt and bonding activities at N’JOY.
Despite the downsizing of active members initially, we doubled our numbers, entering 2024 with over 65 members.
Over the past four months, we organized 25 exclusive events, ranging from city walks and classical concerts to beauty days and book fair visits. Our X-Mas Family party garnered tremendous attendance and fundraising success.
As we step into 2024, IWAK plans to continue regular brunches, walks, and coffee mornings. Thematic events, outings, and workshops aligned with club interests (Reading, Travel, Art, and Moms) are on the horizon.
