Autism Centre Handover Visit

On 19 February Kasia Gates and I, on behalf of the IWAK Committee, visited the Centre of Autism and Complex Development Disabilities for the official handover of the 10,000 PLN collected at last year’s Christmas Charity Golden Party. This closes IWAK’s second year of financial assistance to the Centre. We were led around the facility by the Principal, Ms Aneta Garncarz.

The educational kitchen and dining area require full renovation works including new flooring, electrical work, paintwork, removal of walls and replacement of all of the outdated and worn furniture and appliances. Thanks to the kindness of our former member Rachel Hofmeister, the Centre has additionally received a gift of several smaller kitchen appliances, pots, pans and dishes! Our charity and events team member Kasia Gates has offered to help find an architect to design the new space free-of-charge. Thank you ladies for your very kind offers!

IWAK financing over recent years has additionally enabled the Centre to fully renovate and furnish its sensory integration room, as well as renovate its computer lab and furnish it with new desks and a new interactive screen. These rooms feature plaques by the doors with this information! IWAK is proud to have been able to lend its support to such a worthy cause. Once again we would like to thank all those involved in the recent years of cooperation with this institution.
